Welcome

to the Ocean Observing and Modeling Group (OMG) in the Department of Marine, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences, North Carolina State University. Research interests in our group include:

  • coastal circulation dynamics
  • marine physical-biogeochemical interactions
  • air-sea interactions
  • satellite oceanography
  • numerical modeling and data assimilation
  • coastal ocean observing system

Our approach is to use in-situ and remote sensing observations, numerical models and data analysis and assimilation methods to examine fundamental ocean circulation physics, and to gain an integrated understanding of their interactions with atmosphere, and ocean biological, geological, and chemical processes.

We welcome interested students and researchers to visit and join OMG.
